Liberty and Freedom

Save Our History Project

The Office of Archives and History and Ligon Gifted and Talented Magnet Middle School in Raleigh, North Carolina worked together on a project that explored the removal and recovery of North Carolina’s copy of the Bill of Rights. Ligon students researched the event, created an exhibit with an interactive map of Raleigh in 1865, and developed a video entitled Treasure: Lost. The video portrays the events that led to the removal of the Bill of Rights from the State Capitol. The project was supported by a Save Our History grant from The History Channel.
