North Carolina Digital Collections
The North Carolina Digital Collection (NCDC) is a joint project of the State Archives and State Library of North Carolina. The goal of the North Carolina Digital Collections is to support instructional and research needs related to the history and culture of North Carolina. As a collaborative effort, this project brings together items held in the physical collections of the State Archives and State Library of North Carolina in order to allow seamless searching across both collections, with a primary focus on documentary and state government information from and about North Carolina.
North Carolina Civil War Soldiers Timeline
North Carolina Civil War Soldiers Timeline is a joint project of the State Archives and State Library of North Carolina. Letters from individual soldiers are plotted on a Google Map and tied to a timeline so that users can follow a soldier's path both geographically and through time. The pin-points that represent a soldier's letters are color-coded to allow users to locate that soldier at a glance.
A small selection of the State Archives of North Carolina's digital materials are available on the Internet Archive, including audio recordings for the Speaker Ban Commission Hearings (1965) and North Carolina Senate. You can also find digitized and born-digital content from the State Archives and the State Library in the North Carolina Digital Collections, including materials like the Speaker Ban Study Commission Hearings audio.
