The Polar Express Arrives in Elizabeth City

Sec. Kluttz with Director of Regional Museums Bill McCrea and the members of Tryon Palace's Jonkonnu troupe

Screenings of Polar Express, music, dancing and a visit by Santa Claus were just part of the fun at the Museum of the Albemarle’s Holiday Open last week. Sec. Kluttz joined Elizabeth City Mayor Joe Peel to see the North Pole come alive at the museum.

Visitors got to see a train display provided by the Albemarle Railroad Club, enjoy Polar Express-themed refreshments, go on carriage and pony rides and see a performance by Tryon Palace’s ever popular Jonkonnu troupe among many other activities.

The Museum of the Albemarle hosts great family events like this nearly every week. Check out the museum’s website and follow it on Facebook to see what’s coming up soon. Click here to see more pictures of the event.
