Annual Christmas in the Piedmont Program

Event Description

Visit Bennett Place to learn how the holiday was celebrated during the Civil War. There will be living historians on site demonstrating how the military and civilians attempted to carry on while being away from loved ones and dealing with food shortages. There will be weapons demonstrations as well as cooking demonstrations on going throughout the day. You can try your hand at making a beeswax candle as well as string popcorn and berries to decorate your own tree. There will be a visit by Old St. Nick for the children. This is a wonderful family oriented event that you won't want to miss.
