Time for history, music and fun!

"Possums are fat and sweet potatoes plenty and corn husking times are at hand."

Join us for our Annual Cornshucking Frolic at Horne Creek Farm on Saturday, October 20 from 10 am - 5pm.

Admission fees are as follows:

Adults: $8.00, Children 6 - 12: $5.00, & Children 5 & Under: Free. 

Heritage demonstrations and activities are sure to please every member of the family from young to old. Quilting, basket weaving, knitting, wagon rides, blacksmithing, a grist mill demonstration, log hewing, information on heirloom apples, a cooking demonstration, plowing, chair caning, cider, apple butter & molasses demonstrations, displays of quilts and antique farm equipment, information on the Hauser and Sawyers families, plus much more.

Our musical groups will have you clapping your hands and tapping your feet:

Food Available during the day for a nominal fee: Chicken Stew, BBQ, Ham Biscuits, Pintos & Cornbread, Fried Pies, Sonkers, Ice Cream, and Beverages.

Horne Creek Farm's Southern Hertiage Apple Orchard sells heirloom apples and trees grown at the historic site.

The day would not be complete without shopping at the HCF country store and with a number of local vendors.

No pets (other than service animals) allowed.
No alcoholic beverages allowed

Canceled in the event of heavy rain.

To reach the site, take the Pinnacle Exit (#129) off U.S. Hwy 52 & follow the black and gold state historic site signs.
