DNCR Secretary to Help Dedicate Connect NC Bond Project May 12

Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Secretary Susi H. Hamilton will join other state and local officials and other partners at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area in New Hanover County Friday to dedicate the first Connect NC bond project improving state park visitor facilities. The public is invited to the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Improvements to the restroom and picnic facilities at the beachfront visitor center complex represent a $488,000 investment financed through the Connect NC bond referendum approved by voters in 2016. Through Connect NC, a total $75 million was directed to 45 state parks land acquisition and capital projects that will be initiated through 2019.
