Scholastic Contests and Clubs

Explore our annual programs and clubs that support academic scholarship, community engagement, or environmental stewardship.

Junior Rangers

Junior Rangers explore our beautiful state parks with their families or scout, school and homeschool groups. They can also help park rangers protect the health of the park through short community service projects.

N.C. History Day

N.C. History Day, an affiliate of the National History Day program, is designed to promote an interest in history among 6th-12th grade students through hands-on research and exciting competitions.

Tar Heel Junior Historian Association

A statewide network of clubs that inspires North Carolina’s youth in grades 4th-12th to discover their local history. Clubs have an opportunity to serve their community, attend the annual THJHA Convention, and participate in a variety of project contests.
