IMLS Funds African American Heritage Commission Project

The North Carolina African American Heritage Commission, a division of the North Carolina Arts Council, has received a $148,450 grant from the national Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for its project "Green Books’ Oasis Spaces: African American Travel in NC, 1936-1966.” 

Boost in Arts Funding Benefits all 100 NC Counties

The new budget signed by Governor Pat McCrory will allow the North Carolina Arts Council to support an extensive arts infrastructure across North Carolina, including arts programs in all 100 counties funded through the Grassroots Arts Program, with more than $7.1 million in grants.
