A ca. 1845 china press crafted by African-American master cabinetmaker Thomas Day will be the first piece by the celebrated craftsman to be installed in the North Carolina Executive Mansion.
National Register Adds Nine North Carolina Historic Places
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources officially recognizes more North Carolina history with additions to the National Register of Historic Places. They include one boundary expansion, one additional documentation and seven individual properties across the state.

National Register Adds 15 North Carolina Places
The North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources is pleased to announce that 15 individual properties and districts across the state have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The following properties were reviewed by the North Carolina National Register Advisory Committee and were subsequently approved by the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Officer and forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register.
