Reed Gold Mine hosts World War I Traveling Exhibit

Event Description

Reed Gold Mine will host the World War I traveling exhibit from April 3 to May 12, 2018. This free exhibit will allow visitors to learn more about World War I, dubbed "The War To End All Wars" from the beginning in 1914 through the Armistice on November 11, 1918. Along with the traveling section, Reed will also highlight some of the soldiers who fought from Cabarrus County, and include artifacts from the local area. Visitors will be able to see WWI uniforms, equipment, photographs and handmade items from the war as they walk through the exhibit. A reproduction of trench wall will greet visitors to the exhibit, while period films and music add to the experience.

Hands-on activities will be available during the exhibit, and special children's events are scheduled for May 7 and 14.
