N.C. Historical Commission to Meet Oct. 30

The North Carolina Historical Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Wed., Oct. 30 in the Administrative Conference Room of the North Carolina Museum of History, 5 East Edenton St., Raleigh. The meeting is open to the public.

The commission will hear a presentation about the planned Freedom Park in Raleigh and review a list of items recommended to be added to or removed from the collections of the State History Museums and State Archives. They will also receive updates on National History Day, the renovation of the State Capitol and the Historical Highway Marker Program, along with reports from division directors in the N.C. Dept. of Natural and Cultural Resources Office of Archives and History. 

New members of the Historical Commission will also be sworn in at the meeting.
