DCR employees enjoyed home-baked goodies and a wonderful display of items made by N.C. craftsmen at the recent SECC auction. Organized by Ansley Wegner, the auction featured paintings, photography, hats, jewelry and a raffle, won by Joy Shattuck, for a $50 Visa card.

The bake sale was the biggest ever with proceeds going to the Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina. This year, the bake sale and auction raised $1,575, a slight increase over last year.

SECC is the only fundraising campaign authorized to solicit charitable contributions in the state employee workplace.

“The best part of this campaign is that there are more than a thousand eligible charities and there is something in it for everyone,” said Secretary Susan Kluttz. “This effort allows state employees to be a part of a team effort, but allows them to choose their favorite charities to support.” Secretary Kluttz was appointed by Governor McCrory as the 2013 Chairman of the SECC.

Please consider making a payroll contribution today, if you have already done so. You can check DCR’s progress online here.
