Nov 25, 2019

You can escape the commercialization of many Christmas celebrations and delight in something that highlights the simplicity of Christmas past at Horne Creek Historical Farm. Bask in the warmth and beauty of a rural turn-of-the-century celebration at the “Christmas By Lamplight” program on Thursday, Dec. 5 or Friday, Dec. 6.

The program will feature caroling in the parlor of the historic farmhouse, a make-and-take craft project, and selected readings from the period. In addition, you’ll learn about the Hauser family and their immediate neighbors, the Sawyers. At the program’s conclusion, a hearty meal will be served.

“If you are looking for something special to bring you into the true spirit of Christmas while stepping into a simpler time, I would highly recommend “Christmas By Lamplight at Horne Creek Farm,” David Ridge says. “We will definitely be going back. Everyone we encountered in the volunteer staff was extremely genuine, knowledgeable and welcoming. I’m so glad we went.”

“Our ladies had a wonderful time last night,” reports the Solid Rock Baptist Church. “The experience enriched all our hearts and for some took us back to we remembered when...Thank your staff for enriching our Christmas memories!”

Two time slots are available for “Christmas By Candlelight” each evening, 5:30-7 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. Reservations are required; no walk-ins are allowed.
