Need something new to help decorate your Christmas tree this year? Mountain Gateway Museum has a new custom-made snowflake ornament now for sale. The snowflake shaped ornament features the museum's name and logo on a round disk inset in the center of the snowflake.

The ornament is available in the museum gift shop for $7 each. Proceeds will benefit the museum. Be sure to check it out at the Christmas Open House Saturday, Dec. 12. Bronner's Christmas Wonderland of Frankenmuth, Michigan, helped design and produce the ornament.

Located at 24 Water Street in Old Fort, Mountain Gateway Museum will be open during the holiday season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday; and noon to 5 p.m. Monday. The museum will be closed December 23-25 for Christmas. It also will be closed on New Year's Day.

Mountain Gateway Museum is the westernmost museum in the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources' Division of State History Museums. For more information, please contact the museum at 828-668-9259 or go to website at www.mountaingatewaymuseum.org
