Publications When the agency that is now Cultural Resources was first created, producing historical publications to give all North Carolinians access to history was at the core of its mission. We continue that tradition today, publishing everything from guidebooks on North Carolina's best arts experiences to overviews of the Tar Heel State's historic properties and much, much more. The State Library, which is the official repository for state government publications, has also made thousands of historical publications from state agencies available online.
